We’re a couple who bought a small (200sqm) block of land in October 2019 in our local area on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The land came with approved plans for a house to build. It’s compact at 115sqm, but a clever design for the small quirky block and we like it. We plan to build it as a passive house. Well, the builder we contract will actually build it. Passive house is a way of building an energy efficient healthy home; it isn’t common (yet) in Australia. Since buying the land we’ve had some stories to share about how we are modifying the plans to make them passive house compliant, finding our team and sticking to our budget!
